About Me Tracey Rountree
As a parent of an AuDHD and dyslexic child, I quickly realised there was a lack of support and resources available. It felt overwhelming at times; I often didn’t know what the 'right thing to do' was. Some days (and weeks!) felt like a battle.
My son learned that his brain worked differently, not wrongly. By focusing on his strengths and introducing tools to support his challenges, he got through those battles with his self-esteem intact and a strong sense of self.
As I learned more about ADHD and how it can present, I recognised many ADHD traits in myself, leading to my own diagnosis in my early 40s.
Understanding my unique expression of ADHD has been transformative, enabling me to adjust the expectations I held for myself and accept my quirks with less shame.

Adult Coaching
- Living with ADHD can feel overwhelming - putting in the effort yet still feeling behind, energy levels fluctuating, emotions running high, and battling that feeling that you ‘should’ be doing more.
- Neurodiversity coaching provides a supportive space to gain clarity on the neuroscience behind your unique wiring, to increase self-awareness and acceptance, and uncover the patterns that may be holding you back.
- You will learn how leverage your strengths, and implement practical tools to manage work, family, and personal commitments.
- Coaching helps you create sustainable change so you can thrive rather than just survive. Contact me for rates and packages.
Parent Coaching
Parenting a child with ADHD can be overwhelming at times, but with the right tools and support, life can become more manageable.
My parent coaching recognises that effective support for a child begins with supporting the parent. In addition to practical strategies, coaching helps parents better understand their own responses, expectations, stress points, and needs. This self-awareness is a critical foundation for consistent, calm, and effective parenting.
Together, we explore both your child’s ADHD profile and your own parenting experience to improve communication, set realistic expectations, and develop strategies that are sustainable for your family. The aim is not 'perfection', but helping you parent in a way that aligns with your values and the kind of parent you want to be.
By using an ADHD-informed approach and shifting unhelpful patterns, parents are better able to support their child’s development while reducing ongoing stress, conflict, and burnout within the family system.

Staff Development Workshops
Tailored staff development workshops provide a deeper understanding of ADHD and the complex interplay between body, mind, and environment - factors that shape behaviour. By recognising these influences, educators and professionals can move beyond surface-level ‘behaviour management’ to a more informed, strengths-based approach.
Participants gain practical strategies to work with, rather than against, neurodivergent traits, fostering empowerment and support rather than trying to "fix" individuals with a one-size-fits-all model. Through respect, empathy, and collaboration, Kaiako can create inclusive environments that nurture confidence, autonomy, and success for neurodivergent children, teens and young adults.
Training can be online or in person.
Pricing from $400, depending on requirements and travel costs.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Psychology |
I bring over a decade of experience running parent courses and professional development workshops in education, workplaces, and government organisations. I am a trusted partner of ADHD NZ, Safe for Children, SKIDS, OSCAR, Kidz Therapy, Altogether Autism, Oranga Tamariki, AKO Aotearoa, and Driving Change, assisting them in providing factual, up-to-date information on ADHD that empowers professionals and caregivers to effect positive change.
In addition to my professional expertise, I draw on my lived experience as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent adult. Navigating both my children's education and my own studies with an ADHD brain has given me first-hand insight into the challenges and strengths that come with neurodivergence, shaping my approach to support, advocacy, and practical strategies. |

My values
I recognise the uniqueness of each individual, including their cultural background, and take a personalised approach that respects the diverse experiences of neurodivergent people in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
I value authenticity, curiosity, creativity, and integrity. My passion for ADHD education and advocacy has driven me to continuously learn and share knowledge to support individuals, families, and professionals in understanding and embracing neurodivergence.
Person Centred Approach
My approach considers all aspects of a person - their body, mind, and environment - recognising how these elements interact and influence their experiences. Respect, empathy, and collaboration are central to my work, ensuring that support is tailored to the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution. I value each person's strengths, challenges, and lived experience, fostering self-determination and autonomy in decision-making. Support is adaptable to individual needs, including cultural considerations, and focuses on empowerment rather than trying to "fix" or change the person.
Ethical Practice
I adhere to ethical practice standards, ensuring a safe, respectful, and confidential environment where individuals can explore their challenges and strengths without judgment.
